Catherine ExpósitoCatherine is an early career half Glaswegian/ Spanish theatre director and writer based in Scotland. She has recently returned to Scotland after completing a year’s residency as Trainee Resident Assistant Director at The King's Head Theatre in London. Catherine has a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Acting and English from Edinburgh Napier University. She is an associate artist with Blazing Hyena Theatre Company. Her directing credits include: For the Love of Cousins, Death is the New Porn and One, Two, Three, Yippee (Blazing Hyena Theatre Company). Catherine's assistant director credits include: Trainspotting (Seabright Productions/ In Your Face Theatre/ King’s Head Theatre) La Bohéme, Strangers Inbetween (King's Head Theatre), How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (Wilton’s Music Hall/ Tarquin Productions/ King’s Head Theatre) and Lace Up (Trig Point/ Traverse Theatre Hot House)
Catherine has worked as a director, facilitator and writer for various Scottish organisations including: Strange Town, Fife College, Scottish Youth Theatre, Cumbernauld Youth Theatre, Drama Studio and 1 in 100 Theatre Company. In 2016/17 Catherine was commissioned by Strange Town along with co writer Alan Gordon to write both series 1 and 2 of Dead Ends a radio serial produced by Strange Town in association with Radio City and Artcore. At the King’s Head Catherine also worked as an assistant producer for various productions including: Pinnocchio, The Magic Flute (Charles Court Opera/ King’s Head Theatre), A Haunting (Forethought Theatre/ Kings Head/ VAULT Festival) and Momma Golda (King’s Head Theatre). |
